Sculpture and content creation for VOLNA in St. Petersburg.
The idea for this installation was to create a sculpture, which connects two attached rooms. As the theme for the festival played with the image of a wave, we created a pixel matrix moving through the wall like sine curves.
The matrix covered the whole wall in one room and filled the other room with the resulting negative shape. The pixels were generated via Grasshopper and produced manually out of styrofoam in two days. We mapped the front end of every pixel and played the content live. The projections evolved from mathematical functions, frequencies, amplitudes, combining the sculpture and the lights.
